The impact of chronic endometritis on endometrial fibrosis and reproductive prognosis in patients with moderate and severe intrauterine adhesions: A prospective cohort study
Fertility and Sterility Mar 31, 2019
Liu L, et al. - Researchers performed a prospective cohort study (Canadian Task Force classification II-2) of 167 women with moderate to severe intrauterine adhesions (IUAs) to investigate how chronic endometritis (CE), diagnosed by CD138 immunohistochemical (IHC) staining, associate to endometrial fibrosis and reproductive prognosis in these patients. The study population displayed a high incidence of CE diagnosed by CD138 IHC staining, 46%. Observations reveal a possible influence of CE on endometrial fibrosis homeostasis in IUAs. Recurrence of adhesions and poorer reproductive outcomes were more frequent in women with CE.
