The effect of revascularization in patients with anatomically significant atherosclerotic renovascular disease presenting with high-risk clinical features

Vassallo D, et al. - In a highly selected cohort of patients with atherosclerotic renovascular disease (ARVD), death, progression to end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), and cardiovascular events (CVE) following revascularization were determined. In patients with anatomically significant renal artery stenosis who present with rapidly deteriorating renal function, revascularization may be beneficial. Patients with severe bilateral ARVD or <1 g/day proteinuria may benefit from revascularization.
