The effect of high-dose atorvastatin on neural activity and cognitive function

Taylor BA, et al. - In this study, the impacts of statins on cognition was investigated using standard neuropsychological evaluations and brain neural activation with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) on two tasks. No measurable changes in neuropsychological test scores were reported in association with high dose atorvastatin therapy for 6 months, however, this treatment did evoke transient differences in brain activation patterns.
