The effect of factors related to periodontal status toward peri-implantitis
Clinical Oral Implants Research May 28, 2019
Arunyanak SP, et al. - In patients with osseointegrated dental implants of different implant systems, researchers studied the connection between periodontal status and peri-implant diseases using chi-square and logistic regression analysis. For this investigation, 200 consecutive implant patients were evaluated utilising clinical and radiographic examinations during periodontal maintenance visits. Data analysis showed that peri-implant health status was significantly linked to past periodontal status, maintenance status, and present periodontal status. According to this cross-sectional study, subjects with a history of chronic periodontitis, particularly those with severe periodontal disease had a 2.5-fold increased risk of peri-implantitis.
