The duration of antibiotic treatment after EUS-guided drainage of walled-off pancreatic necrosis does not affect outcomes

Sahar N, et al. - The authors examined the duration of antibiotic treatment after EUS-guided drainage of walled-off necrosis (WON). Compared with shorter courses, a longer course of antibiotics seemed to have similar outcomes in patients with WON treated with dual-modality drainage (DMD). Prolonged-course therapy could predispose to secondary infections like C. difficile colitis.
