The changing trend of cardiovascular disease and its clinical characteristics in Ethiopia: Hospital-based observational study

Tefera YG, et al. – The pattern of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), their clinical characteristics, and linked factors were contemplated in the outpatient department of the chronic illness clinic of Gondar University Referral Hospital. The findings displayed that hypertension was the most frequent CVD followed by heart failure (HF). Hypertensive heart disease served as the leading cause of cardiac diseases. Maximum patients reported improved assessment in the last follow–up. However, patients from rural regions and those with comorbidty exhibited a greater tendency of a poor cardiovascular outcome.
