The burden of peristomal skin complications on an ostomy population as assessed by health utility and the physical component summary of the SF-36v2

Nichols TR, et al. - The goal of this paper was to contemplate the health utility and health-related quality of life in an adult US ostomy sample in the presence of three levels of peristomal skin condition: Intact, moderately compromised, and severely compromised. It was concluded that successful therapy from a clinical perspective, appeared to be more than the elimination of conditions. It served as a return of quality time to an individual.
