The B-type natriuretic peptide is a useful biomarker for the estimation of volume overload in children with hypertension in children on peritoneal dialysis

Lee JH, et al. - Among hypertensive children on peritoneal dialysis (PD), the usefulness of serum B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) as a biomarker of fluid retention was assessed. Measuring BNP was recommended in hypertensive patients on PD in order to assess the volume status.
