The association of polymorphism in PHACTR1 rs9349379 and rs12526453 with coronary artery atherosclerosis or coronary artery calcification: A systematic review
Coronary Artery Disease Jul 30, 2021
Koitsopoulos PG, et al. - Researchers undertook this systematic review of the literature to assess the association between phosphatase and actin regulator 1 (PHACTR1) single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and the type of coronary artery disease coronary artery atherosclerotic disease (CAD) vs coronary artery calcification (CAC). They analyzed 18 studies spanning seven PHACTR1 SNPs. Findings showed the presence of associations of several PHACTR1, specifically rs9349379 and rs12526453 polymorphisms but not rs2026458, with CAD. Differences were present in the association of PHACTR1 SNPs with CAC. PHACTR1 deserves more focus and study for the prophylaxis and management of CAD.
