Nikiphorou E, et al. - Authors aimed to assess the relationships between BMI and disease activity, functional ability and quality of life in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In early RA, obesity prevalence was seen to be rising which was related to the worse disease activity, function and health-related quality of life, with a significant negative effect on achieving a low DAS28. Findings suggested that in RA, obesity management should become central to treatment strategies.
