The association between mental health disorders and history of unintended pregnancy among women Veterans
Journal of General Internal Medicine Sep 12, 2018
Judge-Golden CP, et al. – Researchers analyzed data from a nationally representative, cross-sectional telephone survey of female veterans aged 18–45 years who used Veterans Affairs (VA) for primary care within 12 months prior to interview to evaluate the association between self-reported mental illness and history of unintended pregnancy among female veterans. Findings showed that, compared with veterans who do not have mental health disorders (eg, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia), female veterans with mental health disorders were more likely to have experienced any and greater numbers of unintended pregnancies.
