Telmisartan does not improve lymph node or adipose tissue fibrosis more than continued ART alone

The Journal of Infectious Diseases Feb 09, 2018

Utay NS, et al. - Researchers here tested their hypothesis that the angiotensin receptor blocker and PPAR-γ agonist telmisartan would decrease lymph node or adipose tissue fibrosis in treated HIV-1 infection. They observed a decrease in lymph node and adipose tissue fibrosis with continued antiretroviral therapy (ART) alone in adults with treated HIV-1 infection. Findings suggested no additional fibrosis reduction with telmisartan.
