Survival of adjacent-dental-implants in prediabetic and systemically healthy subjects at 5-years follow-up
Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research Feb 27, 2019
Alrabiah M, et al. - A total of 79 candidates in prediabetic (group-A) and nondiabetic (group-B) subjects were analyzed to examine the long-term survival of adjacent-dental-implants (ADI) in both groups at 5-years follow-up. They observed tooth-brushing once daily by 79.5% and 82.5% people in groups -A and -B, respectively. They found increased peri-implant plaque index (PI), bleeding-on-probing (BOP), depth of probing (PD), mesial, and distal crestal bone loss (CBL) and hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels in group-A as compared to group-B. They recorded the implant survival rate in group-A and group-B, 100% and 100%, respectively.
