Success and survival of post-restoration: Six-year results of a prospective observational practice-based clinical study

Kramer EJ, et al. - In this prospective, noninterventional, multi-center, practice-based study, researchers assessed the factors affecting the progress and endurance of endodontic posts and also to estimate the durability of endodontically treated teeth (ETT) restored with posts with 195 candidates up to 6.5 years. They noticed successful 140 posts with a mean annual failure rate of 8.6%. They observed the survival of 152 posts with mean survival time, 64 (60–67) months. They found recemented restorations with 8 times greater failure rate as compared to new restorations. A lower success rate of restorations with glass fiber post was recorded in comparison with titanium posts.
