Subtypes of the type II pit pattern reflect distinct molecular subclasses in the serrated neoplastic pathway

Aoki H, et al. - The intention of the experts was to establish accurate colonoscopic diagnosis and treatment of serrated lesions (SLs) by analyzing the correlations among the morphological, pathological, and molecular characteristics of SLs in the case of colorectal lesions. Distinct molecular subclasses were illustrated by the type II subtypes in the serrated neoplasia pathway. These could serve as useful hallmarks for detecting SLs at high risk of developing into CRC.
