American Journal of Ophthalmology Mar 12, 2018
Kheirkhah A, et al. - This cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the occurrence of subtarsal fibrosis in subjects having graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and determined its relationship with ocular surface epitheliopathy. A significant percentage of patients with chronic ocular GVHD presented with subtarsal fibrosis, thereby contributing to the ocular surface damage in these patients. Findings demonstrated that compared to the eyes without fibrosis, eyes with subtarsal fibrosis had a more severe ocular surface epitheliopathy.
