Sofosbuvir-based antiviral therapy in hepatitis C virus patients with severe renal failure

Dumortier J, et al. - Herein, sofosbuvir (SOF) was contemplated as a treatment option for hepatitis C virus (HCV)-infected patients with severe renal failure [including haemodialysis (HD) patients], focusing on its antiviral efficacy and safety. It was strongly suggested in this study that as a treatment option for HCV patients with end-stage renal disease, including HD patients, SOF-based antiviral therapy, with a reduced dose of SOF, is safe and effective.
