Significance of PR3-ANCA positivity in eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg-Strauss)
Rheumatology Jan 07, 2021
Papo M, Sinico RA, Teixeira V, et al. - This study was undertaken to investigate the significance of PR3-ANCA in eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA). Researchers constructed a retrospective European multicentre cohort including a total of 845 individuals. They examined baseline characteristics and outcomes and compared them according to ANCA status. It was shown that PR3-ANCA EGPA individuals differ from those with MPO-ANCA and negative ANCA, and share clinical features with granulomatosis with polyangiitis. The findings revealed that PR3-ANCA EGPA could be a particular form of PR3-ANCA-associated vasculitis.
