Should mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MiniPNL/Miniperc) be the ideal tract for medium-sized renal calculi (15–30 mm)?

World Journal of Urology Nov 17, 2017

Kukreja RA - A comparative scrutiny was pursued of the efficacy and morbidity of reducing the tract size from the standard 24–16.5 Fr for stones sized from 16 to 30 mm. The observation made was that the 16.5 Fr Miniperc tract yielded lower morbidity with regard to the blood loss. It maintained the stone clearance comparable to larger 24 Fr tract size. This was recommended as the ideal size to be used for medium sized renal stones.
