Short-term outcomes of staged lateral alveolar ridge augmentation using autogenous tooth roots. A prospective controlled clinical study
Journal of Clinical Periodontology Aug 22, 2019
Schwarz F, et al. - In this prospective controlled clinical study involving 23 patients (23 implants), researchers used autogenous tooth roots (TR) and autogenous bone blocks (AB) to evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes of lateral alveolar ridge augmentation. No important correlations between changes in bleeding on probing and pocket depth values and the initial as well as the ridge width measured at 26 weeks were revealed in the regression analysis. Findings suggested an association of TR and AB with comparable clinical short-term results.
