Sex differences in aortic augmentation index in adolescents

Barraclough JY, et al. – Determinants of sexual disparities in augmentation index (AIx) in adolescents were investigated. At 14 years of age, girls versus boys had a higher AIx. In addition, AIx was closely associated with change in height between 8 and 14 years. The sex difference in AIx was not appeared to be independently affected by the measures of puberty.
