Kwinten WMJ, et al. - A feasibility study was intended to perform a night-time, home-based evaluation of the SENS-U in children with monosymptomatic enuresis (MNE). Researchers enrolled children (6-12 years) with MNE for a one-night monitoring session. A total of 15 individuals (boys/girls: 13/2) [mean age: 8.6 ± 1.5 years] have been recruited. The SENS-U continuously (i.e. every 30 s) calculated the filling status [notifications were deactivated] during the night. Further, urine volume was obtained in a measurement cup (or diaper weight). by using descriptive statistics, the total measured natural nocturnal bladder filling (NNBF) cycles was investigated. Sleep behavior was evaluated by a selection of the Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire before and after the measurement. In children with monosymptomatic enuresis, the SENS-U was able to monitor the natural nocturnal bladder filling successfully at home, without disturbing their sleep. Further study is needed to determine the usability of the SENS-U for both diagnostic – and treatment purposes.
