Second-generation drug-eluting stents versus drug-coated balloons for the treatment of coronary in-stent restenosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions Evidence based | Oct 13, 2017

Kokkinidis DG, et al. - This study involves evidence synthesis from randomized clinical trials (RCTs) and observational studies that directly compare second-generation drug-eluting stents (SG-DES) and drug-coated balloons (DCB) for the treatment of coronary in-stent restenosis (ISR). Findings reported that both treatment strategies were equally effective in the treatment of ISR, while baseline differences in the two groups among real-world studies might potentially explain the difference in all-cause mortality.
