Safety and feasibility of intravesical instillation of botulinum toxin-A in hydrogel-based slow release delivery system in interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome patients: A pilot study

Rappaport YH, et al. - Herein, experts attempted to figure out the feasibility and safety of a mixture instillation of TC-3 Gel, a novel reverse-thermal gelation hydrogel, and botulinum toxin-A (BTX-A) for the treatment of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). Based on the results, it was unveiled that this intravesical instillation approach of a TC-3 Gel/BTX-A mixture was safe and tolerable. A temporary efficacy was brought to light, lasting for a few weeks.
