Risk of new-onset diabetes in end-stage renal disease patients undergoing dialysis: Analysis from registry data of Taiwan

Wang IK, et al. – Researchers carried out this study to compare the risk of developing new–onset diabetes between hemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. As compared to HD patients, PD patients were at a higher risk of developing new–onset diabetes. They recommended icodextrin for PD patients to reduce the risk of new–onset diabetes.
