Risk factors of postoperative valgus malalignment in mobile-bearing medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty
Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery Nov 15, 2018
Zhang Q, et al. - Researchers gauged the risk factors of postoperative valgus malalignment following mobile-bearing medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA). Radiographic and surgical characteristics were retrospectively evaluated in 122 consecutive Oxford phase 3 UKAs. Findings suggested a significant association of preoperative smaller LDFA, FTFA, larger MPTA and less medial tibial cut thickness with postoperative valgus malalignment in mobile-bearing UKA. They noted 183.45 ± 2.21° and 176.88 ± 2.35°, respectively to be the mean of postoperative hip–knee–ankle angle (HKAA) in valgus group and non-valgus group.
