Risk factors of fixation failure in basicervical femoral neck fracture: Which device is optimal for fixation?

Injury Feb 15, 2018

Lee YK, et al. - In basicervical femur neck fracture (FNF), the incidence of fixation failure was investigated and the risk factors for fixation failure after internal fixation were assessed. In this study, basicervical FNF treated with extramedullary plate with a sliding hip screw showed more frequent failure than that treated with intramedullary nail with a helical blade. Compared with extramedullary plate with a sliding hip screw, intramedullary nail with a helical blade was more recommended for basicervical FNF.
