Risk factors for the recurrence of interstitial lung disease in patients with polymyositis and dermatomyositis: A retrospective cohort study

Nakazawa M, et al. - A retrospective cohort study is done to identify risk factors for the recurrence of interstitial lung disease (ILD) in patients with polymyositis (PM)/dermatomyositis (DM). According to the outcome obtained, low pulmonary vital capacity at disease onset and anti-ARS antibodies positivity are the risk factors for the recurrence of ILD with PM/DM. They noticed that the calcinuerin inhibitors are essential in preventing relapse.
