European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology Nov 15, 2019
Ding X, et al. - In this systematic review and meta-analysis, researchers identified significant risk factors for perforation in gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection. For this investigation, they searched studies published in the English language for in Embase, WEB OF SCIENCE, Medline (PubMed and Ovid) and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and Database of Systematic Reviews. According to findings, liver disease, vertical localization (the upper portion of the stomach), resected size (> 20 mm), depth of invasion (submucosal), operation time (> 2 hours), gross type of lesion (flat or depressed), and piecemeal resection have been verified as risk factors for perforation of gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection.
