Risk factors for hospitalizations due to bacterial respiratory tract infections after tracheotomy

Russell CJ, et al. - This study encompassed a determination of the characteristics associated with hospital readmission due to bacterial respiratory tract infections (bRTI) in children who underwent tracheotomy. Highest risk for hospital readmission due to bRTI post-tracheotomy was noted among young, Hispanic children with multiple complex chronic conditions who used Medicaid insurance and were not discharged to post-acute care.
