Risk factors associated with postoperative recurrence and repeat surgery in Japanese patients with Crohn’s disease

Kusaka J, et al. - In this assessment, the specialists aimed to identify the factors associated with postoperative recurrence and repeat surgery in order to avoid frequent surgery in patients with Crohn’s disease. They suggested that anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) agents had the potential to prevent postoperative recurrence. In patients with some risk factors, the new introduction, dose escalation, or switching of anti-TNF agents was recommended.
