Return to play in amateur soccer players undergoing hip arthroscopy: Short- to mid-term follow-up
Arthroscopy Dec 26, 2019
SOrtiz-Declet V, Yuen LC, Schwarzman GR, et al. - Data were prospectively gathered and retrospectively reviewed for individuals (n = 41) who had undergone hip arthroscopy between March 2009 and June 2014 in order to explain patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and turn to play at any level in amateur soccer athletes who underwent hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement syndrome at short- to mid-term follow-up. People who take part in amateur soccer within 1-year before surgery and return to their game following hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement syndrome were acknowledged for inclusion in this study. It was found that for amateur soccer athletes, hip arthroscopy was correlated with notable enhancements in PROs. Moreover, there was an increased level of return to soccer and a great proportion of individuals whose competitive level was comparable or enhanced. Thus, for soccer athletes, hip arthroscopy was a good choice in the absence of underlying osteoarthritis, presenting with hip pathology.
