Retinal vascular flow and choroidal thickness in eyes with early age-related macular degeneration with reticular pseudodrusen
BMC Ophthalmology Aug 01, 2018
Ahn SM, et al. - Researchers gauged the characteristics of retinal vessels and retinal thickness in eyes with early age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with or without reticular pseudodrusen. As per data, choroidal and retinal vascular loss accompanied the retinal thinning in early AMD patients with reticular pseudodrusen, thereby suggesting a possible linkage of retinal thinning with vascular alterations. Multivariate analysis revealed a correlation of lower vascular density of the superficial capillary plexus and subfoveal choroidal thickness with retinal thinning in reticular pseudodrusen group and in the non-reticular pseudodrusen group an association of older age with retinal thickness was seen.
