Resolution of vocal fold immobility in preterm infants

International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Oct 17, 2017

Jabbour J, et al. - The purpose of this trial was to investigate the factors linked with vocal fold immobility (VFI) resolution in preterm infants. The known risk factors for VFI following PDA ligation were lower birth weight and gestational age. They exhibited a correlation with the decreased tendency of VFI resolution. PDA ligation was found to be a risk factor for both the development and persistence of VFI. This evidence ought to inform the prognosis and intervention decisions for preterm infants with VFI.
