Renal outcomes of pregnant patients with immunoglobulin a nephropathy: A systematic review and meta-analysis
American Journal of Nephrology Mar 01, 2019
Wang F, et al. - Via searching MEDLINE, EMBASE, Chinese Biological Medicine and Cochrane for cohort and case-control studies, researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to obtain the overall estimate of the potential effect of immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) and pregnancy. A total of 1,378 articles have been reviewed and 9 studies have been included. In women with IgAN in stages of chronic kidney disease 1-3, pregnancy did not accelerate the deterioration of kidney disease. In addition, the risk of adverse pregnancy events in patients with IgAN was relatively low compared to patients with lupus nephritis or diabetic nephropathy.
