Relationship between spinal sagittal alignment and acetabular coverage: A patient-matched control study
Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery Jul 10, 2018
Fukushima K, et al. - Authors assessed the effect of acetabular coverage on spinal sagittal alignment by comparing patient groups matched on sex, age, and the presence of hip and anterior impingement pain. In patients with dysplasia of the hip (DDH), the sacral slope (SS) and lumbar lordosis (LL) were greater vs in patients with hip pain, but without DDH. Lumbar hyperlordosis to rotate the pelvis anteriorly was noted in the patients with DDH, thereby, increasing the anterosuperior acetabular coverage.
