Reflectance confocal microscopy identification of subclinical basal cell carcinomas during and after vismodegib treatment

Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Nov 08, 2017

Couzan C, et al. - Among patients with multiple basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) treated by vismodegib, the authors assessed specificity and sensitivity of clinical, dermoscopic and reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) examination for BCC. RCM was a non-invasive technique. During and after vismodegib treatment, it could detect subclinical residual BCC, thus helping the clinician to identify incomplete tumor regression.
