Recurrence rates of urinary calculi according to stone composition and morphology

Daudon M, et al. - In this trial, the experts aimed to assess the tendency of recurrence of the urinary calculi as a function of the major mineral composition of the calculi and their morphological characteristics. For identifying the potential of recurrence of the stones, stone mineral type alone was insufficient. The diagnosis of highly recurrent stones could be allowed by the addition of stone morphology, even among common mineral types [eg, calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM)] that in general were less recurrent.
