Recurrence of chronic urticaria: Incidence and associated factors

The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice Sep 09, 2017

Kim JK, et al. – The aim of this retrospective chart review was to establish a definition, determine the frequency, and assess risk factors for recurrent chronic urticaria (RCU). It was observed in the findings that RCU occurs in approximately 13% of patients with chronic urticaria (CU) in the clinic population. The outcomes suggested that alternative agent use and antihistamine refractoriness seem to place patients at increased risk of recurrence compared with the first-line agent used alone.
