Randomized controlled trial on mouth rinse and flossing efficacy on interproximal gingivitis and dental plaque

Luís HS, et al. – A randomized controlled trial was performed with the aim to compare the efficacy of an essential oils mouth rinse and dental floss on dental plaque accumulation and gingivitis in interproximal areas. The findings suggested that the use of an essential oils mouth rinse might be advised, as a complement, for patients unable to floss effectively, as it is more effective in decreasing interproximal dental plaque accumulation than dental floss.
