Raised serum uric acid is associated with higher bone mineral density in a cross-sectional study of a healthy Indian population

Kaushal N, et al. - An inquiry was set up with regard to the connection between serum uric acid (UA) levels and bone mineral density (BMD) in healthy adult Indian candidates. Results shed light on the link between raised UA levels with higher BMD at all skeletal sites. Due to its antioxidant effect, UA could display a protective role in bone metabolism.
