Radical prostatectomy or radiotherapy reduce prostate cancer mortality in elderly patients: A population-based propensity score adjusted analysis

Bandini M, et al. - Researchers attempted to figure out the cancer-specific mortality (CSM) rates in men with cT1-T2 prostate cancer (PCa) according to treatment type. Local treatment (LT) conferred clinically significant and statistically marked benefit relative to non-local treatment (NLT), regardless of the advanced age. It was demonstrated that such benefit was exclusively applicable to Gleason grade group (GGG) II to V but not to GGG I patients.
