Proton therapy for pediatric head and neck malignancies

Pediatric Blood & Cancer Oct 26, 2017

Vogel J, et al. - This research intended to illustrate the acute toxicities and early outcomes following proton beam therapy (PBT) for pediatric head and neck malignancies. Low rates of acute toxicity were disclosed in the study cohort. PBT was found to be safe in this scenario, with local control rates being similar to historical reports. Longer follow-up would be warranted in order to contemplate the late toxicity and long-term disease control.
