Trifan A, et al. - Authors perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) therapy and the risk of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI). Additional evidence gained in this meta-analysis support that PPI use is associated with an increased risk for development of CDI. They recommend conducting further high-quality, prospective studies to assess whether this association is causal.
