Prospective, randomized controlled trial exploring the effect of tachosil on lymphocele formation after extended pelvic lymph node dissection in prostate cancer
Urology May 20, 2018
Buelens S, et al. - Experts assessed if TachoSil, a hemostatic patch, could reduce the incidence of lymphocele formation after pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) for nodal staging in prostate cancer. Findings suggested less likeliness of patients receiving bilateral TachoSil placement after PLND to develop a radiographic lymphocele early postoperative. However, it remained debatable whether or not the use of TachoSil was clinically relevant. No significant difference was seen in patient, tumour and surgical characteristics of the TachoSil and control group.
