Prospective comparison of standard- vs low-radiation-dose CT enterography for the quantitative assessment of Crohn's disease

American Journal of Roentgenology Mar 14, 2018

Rosenfeld G, et al. - The non-inferiority of a model-based iterative reconstruction (MBIR) technique using lower radiation doses compared with standard-dose CT enterography (CTE) was evaluated in an analysis of Crohn's disease (CD). It was shown that low-dose CTE using MBIR was sensitive and specific for the detection of active inflammatory changes of CD, while making use of radiation doses that were significantly lower compared to those associated with standard techniques.
