Prophylactic enoxaparin doses may be inadequate in patients undergoing abdominal cancer surgery

Baumgartner JM, et al. - The adequacy of enoxaparin prophylaxis in patients undergoing abdominal cancer surgery was determined in this present study. Findings demonstrated that after abdominal cancer surgery, inadequate anti-Factor Xa levels were detected in the majority of patients, calling into question standard prophylactic enoxaparin dosing.
