Prognostic value of pre-operative neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio, monocyte count, mean platelet volume, and platelet/lymphocyte ratio in endometrial cancer
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology May 28, 2018
Temur I, et al. - Considering the association of cancer-related inflammation with poor long-term outcomes in various solid tumors, researchers investigated the prognostic significance of pre-operative neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte count (MC), mean platelet volume (MPV), and platelet lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in endometrial cancer. An evaluation was performed of 763 patients with endometrial cancer, who were followed between January 1996 and February 2016. Findings suggested NLR be a prognostic factor for survival. Furthermore, NLR and PLR were noted as valuable for predicting lymph node involvement and cervical invasion in endometrial cancer.
