Prognostic value of plasma MR-proADM vs NT-proBNP for heart failure in people with type 2 diabetes: The SURDIAGENE prospective study
Diabetologia - Clinical and Experimental Diabetes and Metabolism Nov 08, 2018
Fraty M, et al. - In patients with type 2 diabetes, researchers compared the prognostic value of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) for the occurrence of congestive heart failure to plasma mid-region pro-adrenomedullin (MR-proADM), a surrogate for adrenomedullin, a vasoactive peptide with vasodilator and natriuretic properties. A total of 1,438 participants were included in this investigation. According to findings, MR-proADM is a prognostic biomarker for heart failure but offers no significant complementary information on forecast of heart failure vs NT-proBNP.
