Prognostic value of high-sensitivity vs conventional cardiac troponin T assays among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus undergoing maintenance hemodialysis
American Journal of Kidney Diseases Jan 20, 2018
Keller T, et al. - Researchers evaluated the prognostic value of very low cardiac troponin T (TnT) concentrations using data from a randomized controlled trial. Cardiac TnT was correlated with long-term mortality and cardiovascular outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus receiving hemodialysis. Concentrations of TnT not measurable with acceptable precision using a conventional TnT assay were correlated with a poor prognosis when measured using a high-sensitivity assay.
